Insurance Fund
Why do we need an insurance fund? vAMMs by design will have certain costs involved including 1. funding payments by the system to the users due to the natural long/short ratio imbalances 2. costs involved in completing price alignment operations such as applying the price alignment multiplier and increase in K and 3. bad debt by absorbing unexpected losses from the liquidation process.
